Our Past Projects From a small meeting in fall of 2004, to over 1 Million dollars in donations to the Utah community, the Utah Home Make-Over team has had the opportunity to work with the most giving and generous Utah corporations and individuals. Look at the lives that have been changed! January 2005 - Putnam Rose Park Utah In January 2005, Adele Putnam 78, of Rose Park - and her two mentally dependent daughters Linda and Virginia received a home make-over. Changing out 50 year-old carpeting and paint, as well as replacing flooring and exterior, this 3 1/2 day make-over brought $70,000 in upgrades and furnishings! August 2005 - Richardson Family Pleasant Grove Utah After a fire destroyed the downstairs, the Richardson’s home was condemned due to code issues - this left Greg and Holli and their 20 children homeless. Many of the children had disabilities - four biological children - 16 adopted children from all over the world. In 10 days over $450,000 in donations and labor were gifted! People Magazine told about this home make-over in a four paged article - as well, the family was interviewed on Good Morning America! December 2005 - Mondragon Family Salt Lake City Utah With the help of the Utah National Speakers Association and Automotive Solutions, the Mondragon family was assisted as their 11 month old son received a bone marrow transplant. Christmas gifts were given and both cars were repaired, allowing their entire family to get to the hospital for daily care. October 2006 - Smeltzer Family Sandy Utah Many members of the Smeltzer Family in Sandy, Utah suffer from a rare degenerative disease called leukoensepholopathy. Their 30 year old home was ready to be condemned. In 14 days their 1,500 sq ft home was demolished and a 4,400 sq ft home was built in it place! Eaglegate College donated $10,000 in scholarship funds to the Smeltzer family! November 2006 - Schoemaker Home Salt Lake City Utah Lena Schoemaker and her mother Lorraine were hit by a truck on their way to a family reunion. Mother Lorraine died due to injuries and daughter Lena was paralyzed from the waist down. Over 14 days a wheelchair lift was installed, new flooring was placed, new doors installed, and two new bathrooms were created. May 2007 - Hanson Home Sugarhouse Utah On February 12, 2007 Stacy Hanson was shot 3 times by a disturbed young man who opened fire in the Trolley Square Mall in SLC Utah. His injuries required him to return home months later in a wheelchair. Because his home was not wheelchair accessible, the family believed they would need to sell their home. Partnered with ABC4 and Good Things Utah, Platinum Homes renovated the Hanson residence with the support of the Heart 2 Home Foundation - over $100,000 in upgrades, addition to home and furnishings! On April 17, 2007 the Hanson family was welcomed home live on Good Things Utah! |
